Dental implants in Bella Vista, planned with patience.
A natural-looking, long-lasting replacement for a missing tooth, planned by Dr Wendy Wang alongside our visiting prosthodontist and shaped around the smile you already have. Serving families across The Hills District for over fifteen years.

A permanent tooth replacement, planned in 3D.
A small titanium post placed gently into the jawbone, then topped with a custom-made porcelain crown shaped and colour-matched to your other teeth. For most patients at our Bella Vista practice, an implant looks, feels, and functions like the natural tooth it replaces.
A dental implant has three parts. The post is the new root, made of medical-grade titanium. The abutment is a small connector. The crown is the visible part on top. Once the post integrates with the bone over three to six months, the abutment and crown are fitted to complete the tooth.
Done with care, an implant lasts for decades. You brush and floss it the way you would a natural tooth, it bites with the same strength, and the body treats it as its own. Done in a hurry, the outcome is far less predictable. We take the time to plan every step with imaging, a digital mock-up, and a second clinical opinion from our visiting prosthodontist before any surgical step is taken.
Every Oralux implant case starts with a cone-beam CT scan, which is a low-dose 3D image of your jaw. From that scan, Dr Wendy Wang maps the exact position of the implant in software, then confirms the plan with our visiting prosthodontist. You see the planned position before treatment begins, and you leave the consultation with a written plan and a fixed-fee quote.

Biocompatible titanium fuses with the jawbone over a few months, giving the crown a root as stable as a natural tooth.

Looks and feels natural
The crown is shaped, sized, and colour-matched to your other teeth. It bites and chews like the tooth it replaces.
The quiet problems a dental implant can solve.
Many of our Bella Vista patients come to us after years of working around a missing tooth. The jaw, the bite, and the surrounding teeth all change when a tooth has been gone for a while. Replacing the tooth properly addresses each of those changes.
Gaps that make chewing harder
Restores full chewing strength on the affected side so you can enjoy a meal without favouring one side or avoiding certain foods.
Neighbouring teeth that have drifted
Holds the surrounding teeth in place so the bite does not slowly collapse into the empty space. This matters most for patients who lost a tooth years ago.
Bone loss in the jaw
Stimulates the jawbone the way a natural root does, slowing the gradual loss that happens when a tooth has been missing for a long time.
Speech that has subtly changed
Reinstates the tongue-to-tooth contact that certain sounds rely on, particularly the s and th sounds.
Loose or uncomfortable dentures
Two to four implants can anchor a denture so it stops moving while you eat, speak, or laugh. A common improvement for long-term denture wearers.
A smile you have stopped showing
Brings back a full smile with a porcelain crown colour-matched to your other teeth. The shape is planned in a mock-up first so you see the outcome before we begin.
Excellent candidates for dental implants.
Implants work best where the gums are healthy and there is enough bone to anchor the post. The factors below help us plan the safest, most predictable path for you. Many of our patients across The Hills District are candidates from the first appointment.
A good fit if
These presentations respond reliably to implant treatment, with predictable healing and stable long-term outcomes.
- You have one or more teeth missing, or a tooth scheduled for extraction.
- Your gums are healthy, or can be brought back to health before treatment begins.
- You have enough jawbone to anchor the implant, or are open to a graft that builds bone back up.
- You are committed to daily hygiene and regular check-ups, the way you would care for natural teeth.
- You want a permanent solution rather than a removable denture.
- You wear a denture or bridge and want a more stable, lower-maintenance result.
- You are in reasonable general health, with any chronic conditions well managed.
May not suit you if
In some cases, a bridge, a well-made denture, or staged grafting delivers a better outcome. We will always tell you honestly at the consultation.
- You smoke heavily and are not able to pause around treatment. Smoking materially lowers implant success rates.
- You have uncontrolled diabetes that is affecting your gum health and healing.
- You are on certain bone-density medications (bisphosphonates), which require a careful, case-by-case review.
- You have untreated gum disease. We treat that first, then revisit implants.
- You have had radiation therapy to the jaw, which alters how the bone heals around an implant.
- You have significant bone loss that would require multiple grafts and a longer staged plan.
If implants are not the right fit today, a bridge or a well-made partial denture can still give you a confident smile. We will walk you through every option at the consultation, with honest pros and cons for each.
Not sure if a dental implant is right for you?
Our complimentary implant assessment at Bella Vista takes around thirty minutes. We review your records, take a cone-beam scan if needed, and give you an honest recommendation. No pressure, no obligation.
Your dental implant journey, step by step.
Most cases at our Bella Vista practice follow this rhythm. Complex cases that involve multiple teeth, bone grafts, or a sinus lift add extra steps, and we walk you through those at the consultation.

Risks, side effects & important information
Common side effects
Mild swelling and tenderness for two to three days after placement is normal. Bruising at the surgical site can occur and resolves on its own. Over-the-counter pain relief is usually all that is required. Our team follows up by phone the next day.
Adjustment and recovery
Eating soft foods on the opposite side for one week protects the surgical site. Brushing the area gently is encouraged from day one. The implant integrates over three to six months before the final crown is fitted. You will not be without a tooth in the visible smile zone during that wait.
Important to know
Reported implant success rates in healthy adults are commonly cited above 95 per cent, but results vary depending on bone quality, healing, and aftercare. Smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, and certain bone-density medications affect success. All treatment is carried out under the clinical judgement of a registered dental practitioner. Oralux Dental complies with AHPRA advertising guidelines.

Does a dental implant hurt?
The placement itself is gentle and carried out under local anaesthetic. Most patients describe it as easier than a difficult tooth extraction. Mild soreness for two to three days after is common, and is comfortably managed with over-the-counter pain relief. Sedation is available at our Bella Vista clinic if you would prefer a calmer experience.
How long does the whole implant process take?
From consultation to the final crown, plan on four to seven months for a straightforward single tooth implant. The healing window between placement and crown is the longest part of the timeline. Cases that involve bone grafts or multiple implants take longer. We map the exact timeline for your case at the consultation.
How much does a dental implant cost in Bella Vista?
A single tooth implant typically sits between $4,500 and $6,500 at our practice, including the porcelain crown. More complex cases (sinus lift, bone graft, or full-arch reconstruction) are quoted separately. Our 2026 fee guide lists item numbers and indicative fees for every step. Download it from the section above for the full breakdown.
How long do dental implants last?
With good hygiene and regular hygiene visits, dental implants commonly last twenty years or more, and many last for life. The crown on top may need to be replaced after ten to fifteen years of wear, similar to the lifespan of a crown on a natural tooth.
Will my health fund cover any of the cost?
Most major Australian health funds (BUPA, Medibank, HCF, nib) cover part of the crown component under major dental, and a smaller portion of the surgical placement. We are HiCaps-enabled, so we claim your rebate on the spot and you only pay the gap. We will run an estimate for your specific policy at the consultation.
Can a dental implant be done in a single visit?
Same-day implants exist and are appropriate for some cases. We are conservative by default and rarely recommend the same-day approach. Most patients have a more predictable outcome when the implant is allowed to integrate with the bone before the final crown is fitted.
What if I have been told I do not have enough bone for an implant?
Modern bone grafting is well-established and typically adds three to six months to the timeline. We image your jaw at the consultation and discuss whether a graft is needed. If it is, we walk you through the type of graft, the recovery, and the additional cost upfront.
Can dental implants replace a full set of teeth or stabilise dentures?
Yes. Two to four implants can anchor a denture so it stops moving while you eat or speak, which is a common improvement for long-term denture wearers. For a full arch, our All-Teeth-On-4 treatment uses four strategically-placed implants to support a fixed bridge. Dr Wendy Wang and our visiting prosthodontist plan these cases together.
Do you accept patients from outside Bella Vista?
Yes. We see patients from across The Hills District, including Castle Hill, Norwest, Kellyville, Baulkham Hills, and Rouse Hill. Our clinic at Q-Central in Bella Vista has on-site parking, and we offer late-afternoon family appointments.
